Schoolchildren should not be used to carry political propaganda - Finnie and McDonald

2.02.00pm BST (GMT +0100) Mon 28th Sep 2009

West of Scotland Liberal Democrat MSP Ross Finnie and Local Councillor Susan McDonald have branded as "totally unacceptable" the use of school children by Wendy Alexander MSP to carry home party political propaganda.

On the 23rd of September MSP Wendy Alexander was seen handing out standard letters to children outside the gates of Ralston Primary even when their parents were not present. The post cards where to be filled out and send back to Miss Alexander’s Office as part of a Labour Party campaign

Commenting Ross Finnie and Susan McDonald said:

“It is totally unacceptable and quite wrong for Wendy Alexander to distribute party political material in this way. One suspects that Ms Alexander would have been the first to complain if her family had been given political material in this way.”
