Tories cannot have it both ways

5.12.50pm GMT Thu 29th Oct 2009

Commenting after Annabel Goldie’s criticism of the Scottish Government’s anti-business stance at First Minister’s Questions, Liberal Democrat Finance spokesperson Jeremy Purvis MSP said:

“At five past twelve Annabel Goldie attacked the First Minister for his anti-business stance. But at five past five, the Tories are supporting the SNP’s approach to the economy.

“The Tories cannot have it both ways. Either they agree with the Liberal Democrats and heavyweights from the business community that the SNP is anti-business, or they agree with the SNP Government.

“Backing the Government in the vote shows which way they are facing. They are propping up the SNP.”
