Hospital report demands urgent response

3.19.28pm GMT Mon 23rd Nov 2009

Commenting on the damning Environment Inspectorate report into infection control measures at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, Liberal Democrat MSP for Aberdeen South Nicol Stephen said:

"This report helps to explain exactly why the infection rates at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary are so high.

"It makes for sobering reading and clearly demands an urgent response from management and staff at every level.

"Patients and the public must be reassured that swift and effective action will be taken on each of the nine requirements outlined in this report.

"Everything must be done to make sure that such a damning report about Aberdeen's flagship hospital is never repeated."
